Melrose Elementary Curriculum

Reading Curriculum: Melrose Elementary adopted the 2003 edition of Harcourt Trophies for our basal reading series for grades K-5.  This is a research based reading series on the State of Florida State adopted reading series.  Nightly reading homework for all kindergarten and 1st grade students consists of reading his/her take home book.  Homework for 2nd through 5th grade students consists of a 20-minute nightly read and respond of a self-selected book.

Math Curriculum: Melrose Elementary utilizes the 2004 edition of Harcourt Math for all kindergarten through 5th grade students.

Social Studies: Harcourt Horizons, 2005 edition, is used in all kindergarten through 5th grade classrooms.

Science: In 2006, Melrose Elementary adopted Harcourt Science, 2007 edition for all kindergarten through 5th grade students.
