October 23-31

Each year we celebrate Red Ribbon Week during the month of October. Red Ribbon Week came into existence out of the tragic death of Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena. Following his death, his friends and family started a movement to honor him and stop the destruction caused by drugs. A red ribbon became the symbol of this fight against drug abuse.

Every day during Red Ribbon Week, we used a different theme for our students. Here are some of our ideas:

Red Ribbon Week Activities
MONDAY, October 24 - Put a Cap on Drugs

TUESDAY, October 25 - Drugs give you the Blues
WEDNESDAY, October 26 - Shade Out Drugs
THURSDAY, October 27 - Wear Red Day
FRIDAY, October 28 - Show Your School or Team Spirit Drug Free

MONDAY, October 31 - Drugs are Scary
